Collector Notes
Every original painting is one of one.
Because each work is created by hand, slight texture variations, brushwork, and natural surface characteristics are part of the artwork itself.
Why We Curated This Work
SHOP KIJIJI exists to expand direct relationships between African artists and collectors around the world. Every artwork is selected because it reflects the creativity, dignity, and evolving visual language of contemporary Africa.
That is powerful.

The Story
Four children. Four personalities. One shared joy.
In this expressive acrylic painting, Nairobi artist Nephat captures the playful spirit that exists in villages and neighborhoods throughout Africa. The exaggerated facial expressions celebrate childhood without performance—children unconcerned with perfection, simply existing in community, curiosity, and laughter.
Rather than portraying hardship or stereotype, Nephat presents African childhood as energetic, humorous, and deeply human.
